Happy New Year

The blog was off for a couple of weeks due to the holidays but we're back now and excited for the new year and new projects.

So much sale fabric now only $5 a yard!!
To start the year off right we've dropped the prices of our sale fabric. There is still a lot of it and we'd really like to get rid of as much as we can before we have to do inventory (the not-so-fun part of working in a fabric shop). All of our regular cotton sale fabrics are now $5 a yard!! That is the cheapest they've ever been and we still have so much, definitely a great time to stock up and buy for backings and such.  Books are still 50% off and patterns are buy 2 get 1 free.

More sale fabric.
New Kaufman's for the new year. Both bolts and precuts. I'm thinking some of this would make a really nice light shirtwaist dress for summer. Honestly I started watching the New "Agent Carter" tv mini series which takes place right after WWII and I am now itching to sew vintage looking clothes. There is something so retro about cotton prints...sigh...

Speaking of retro, I received this as a Christmas gift. She's a WWII Fashion Doll. They made them to teach girls how to sew and came with patterns, fabric, and little scissors. This one has three of her original patterns. Straight away I made her a slip and undies and I have to tell you, I felt like a kid again. So much fun dressing her up. Next I'll be making her a WWII air force dress, I'll post a pick when I'm done just because she's so much fun.

Did you receive any fun sewing themed Christmas gifts. We'd love to hear about them. Any projects planned for the new year? Let us know in the comments.

Happy New year and Happy Sewing!
Love,
Jessie and Sue.
