Spring Quilt Market Continued

Monday we talked about the new trends in fabric and are we ever excited to be bringing new collections to you. Today We want to tell you about the newest thing in quilting. Minis are going to be huge. Every booth we went in featured these miniature quilts, and how great is a quilt that you can start and finish in the midst of a busy life. Sue ordered lots of patterns for these mini quilts, we'll be making them into kits soon.
Just a sampling of the Mini Quilt Patterns we picked up.

Mini Quilt love from This & That

Sue Spargo has two new books being released. "Bird Dance" and her second creative stitching book "Creative Texturing." So excited to be offering classes and projects from these books.
Bird Dance.
We're getting lots of new illustrated quilt patterns from Modern Quilts.

From Sew Kind of Wonderful we picked up some super nice new Quick Curve Rulers and patterns to use with the rulers. Loving the fresh look from these quilt patterns: "Metro Twist", "Urban Nine Patch", and "Metro Lattice".
I'm loving the middle quilt. The colors are perfect.
Turnberry Lane is offering new machine embroidery patterns that are designed to look handmade. That's my favorite kind of project, I get the ease of the machine but the look of handwork. "Proud Papa" "In the Meadow Table Runner" "Along the Fence Table Runner" to name a few.
"Along the Fence"
"In the Meadow"

Lots of new wool patterns from Lily Anna Stitches that play with wool designs and "In the Patch" Designs from Wooly Lady.

So many new things coming in, it'll be a brand new store! We'll keep you posted as things arrive in the shop and online.

Happy Sewing

Jessie and Sue

Patterns, Kits, Basics, Oh My!

I hope all of you that are mother's had a lovely day filled with grateful children and yummy desserts. It's finally getting warm here, and I mean very warm, hot even. I (Jessie) spent the weekend in my garden putting in flowers and filling my window boxes. I also got the plants and seeds in my vegetable garden, I'm cautiously hopeful about that (crazy to me that those rows of dirt could turn into food).

In the shop we've gotten in a lot of new things. Moda Christmas fat eigth bundles if you can believe that! Despite the heat and glorious out doors they are beautiful and if your into planning ahead these are for you. We also received Moda's Eerie collection so you can plan for Halloween too!

We're now carrying Peppered Cotton solids in a variety of colors. I love how textured they look, and the names they all have are really sweet (I mean "Aubergine" how lovely sounding is that?). Click HERE for details.

Along with our shipment of "Ribbon Creative Suite" patterns we've gotten in two other new patterns the "Little Wallet" and "Wish Bird". All three of these projects are quick just what summer time needs. No one wants to sit in their sewing room for hours, we want something fast and fun, these are just the ticket. We also have kits available for the wallet for an even faster project.

I love that things are blooming outdoors and in our shop as well. Have a wonderful dirt, and fabric (though not together) filled week.

Wool Patterns

From the shop today with big beautiful flakes swirling down outside. This is magic snow. The most beautiful and Christmasy stuff in the world. This kind of weather makes me want to curl up with a pot of tea or cup of coffee, some hand stitching, in front of the fireplace. The only thing I’m missing is the fireplace but that’s all right because right now I’m surrounded by bolts of beautiful fabric and inspiration everywhere. I can’t wait to start some new cozy project. Come in Wednesday for special sales, another stocking giveaway, and longer hours. We’ll be open until 7pm.

If your looking for new projects but you don’t want to leave the warmth of your house we’ve added new projects and patterns to the website. We’ve got a wonderful Moda quilt kit on sale 20% off! Now that’s something to think about a big warm quilt. Maybe embroidery is more your style, we’ve added lots of crabapple embroidery patterns (these are swoon worthy aren’t they?) we’re selling some of them with all the embroidery floss you’ll need. Perhaps you’re looking for a nice project to give you something to do during this blustery weather but you’re not looking to make a huge time commitment, check out these cute little patterns! And wonderful wool patterns too!

These sassy ladies came to work with me today. I love their Rosie the Riveter look. Their head scarves covering their victory rolls while they work the war effort. These ladies are Christmas presents for a few special ladies. Ladies I love that are tough and sweet and sassy in their own way. The head scarf fabric is all from fat quarters from the shop and the middle dolls red shirt is also from the shop (the pants were made from a pair of old jeans of mine lol).

What are you working on? Any projects you want to share, any stories that are making you crazy? Share in the comments. We love and read every single comment we get.

Stay warm and happy sewing,
Love Jessie and Sue.
