November Already?

It's November already. I can hardly believe it. Usually by now I'm humming Christmas Carols and have a long list of projects I'm eager to get to. This year I haven't even raked the yard yet. Oh dear.

At least the holiday fabric is still on sale, 25% off. I know it's all here waiting taking that pressure off when I finally do break out the Christmas projects.

Speaking of Holidays, we'll close November 25th at Noon and be closed the 26th and 27th for Thanksgiving. We'll reopen on Saturday the 28th for small business Saturday. I hope you'll join us on the 28th, for specials and sweet treats.

If your looking for a really nice quilting project might I suggest the Shimmer Day Break Quilt Kit. The fabric is from Kaufman and has such a nice neutral palate. This quilt certainly has a classic modern twist and is very soothing. The kit includes 5 yards of linen for the background, a Kaufman Fat Quarter bundle, the pattern and two rulers. The kit is on sale for $180 click HERE to order online or come see us in person.

Shimmer day brea quilt. See it online HERE or come into the shop.

Also for your quilting or other wide back needs is the New Tula Pink wide back from the Free Fall Pattern click HERE to view online. At 108'' wide this fabric looks and feels like silk, I am not kidding.  I thought it was silk when it first came in, but it's 100% cotton. $19.00 a yard.

You can find this in the shop or click HERE.

I hope your autumn is filled with crisp apples, beautiful color and cozy fabrics.
Love,
Jessie and Sue.

Tula Pink

Fresh off the presses is the new Tula Pink line: Elizabeth. It's so new in the shop it's not even on the website yet.

I'm assuming the following fabric is Elizabeth herself, but you know what I really love about it? She has freckles! it's so cool and unique and just really speaks to the princess and castle side of me.

I made another Little Wallet from the Valori Wells pattern (available HERE). I actually like this one even better then the first one I made (you can see that one HERE). I used scraps of my beloved Cotton & Steel to create my take on a "matchbook" It's for a friend for her business cards. I love how fast this project is, start to finish I think it took an hour and I used all scraps. It's a great way to use every ounce of that fabric you just love.

Here's a sneak peak at this coming wool club Enchanted Garden Quilt block by Gretchen Gibbons. The last one was so fun to do and they are all so sweet looking. It's got such a great combination of patterns and textures. We're putting the kits together now. Wool club meets the third Thursday of the month at 2pm.

Stocking Stuffers

It's officially the first week of the Holidays (though, I for one have been thinking about it for a while now) and that means it's time to think about stocking stuffers. Growing up stockings were always my favorite part of Christmas morning because it's a little treasure hunt of goodies. And, if I were being honest, I'd say stockings are still at least in my top three of Christmas morning traditions (following the joy of the kids and homemade sticky buns... it might even outrank sticky buns). What I'm trying to say is your NEVER too old for a stocking.

If your husband or other loved one is stuffing one for you and maybe they need a little help, send them our way. We've got loads of great little treasures. The perfect stocking stuffer is a combination of something that is a little practical but still a splurge or something you wouldn't necessarily buy yourself and, of course, it has to be small. Sewing notions are the perfect thing. We have high quality needles, threads, buttons and all kinds of cool little sewing doodads that make sewing easier and more luxurious. We even have wonderful hand lotion and beautiful jewelry! And we're more then happy to help your Santa pick out some great things for your stocking.
These are some of the wonderful products from Sewline we
carry which can be found HERE or in the shop. Their products
make sewing so much blissful.

Fun and sassy thread snips are always a hit.
We have a beautiful array of buttons.
Threads galore, in beautiful colors.
A precut bundle in the toe of my stocking? Yes please!
I also wanted to highlight the latest fabrics that have arrived in the store. New Kaffe Fassette and new Tula Pink. I think it's all fantastic. Every time we get new Kaffe I'm amazed at the color.

Find our new Kaffe's HERE.
My favorite new fabric, though, is this Forest Frivolity from Tula pink. some day I will have a glamper and spend days secluded in the forest writing, and this fabric pulls on that heartstring. It's so whimsical and I love the color palette....I can't wait to figure out what I'll do with this one.
Find this and all our Tula Pink fabric HERE.
Also we've updated our class schedule. Click HERE to see all we offer and to try something new this coming year!

I hope your Holiday planning and sewing is filling you with joy.
And as always
Happy Sewing
Love,
Jessie and Sue.
